Mount Sinai

Mount Sinai (also known as Jabal Musa جبل موسى in Arabic) is a mountain located in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. 2285 meters high and is located in the mountain ranges in the south of the peninsula.

On February 4, 1859, the Codex Sinaiticus, a manuscript of the Old Testament from the 4th century, were discovered by Konstantin von Tischendorf at the foot of this mountain.

There are some scholars who consider it the same as "Mount Sinai" which is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible or Old Testament in the Christian Bible, especially in the collection of the Torah, but it could not be ascertained.

Mount Sinai is the highest peak in the town of Saint Kahterine's. Mount Sinai visited by many tourists, because in this mountain Moses received a revelation from God, the 10 commandments given to the Israelites. At the peak of Sinai also stands a mosque and a church, and many climbers are attracted to the top.
